(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
10/6/2018 7:49:54 PM A pet owner reported that the dog ingested an unknown amount of bait from one place pack on October 5, 2018. The dog was ataxic and vocalizing at the time of the report. Immediate veterinary care was recommended. On October 7, 2018 a veterinarian reported the dog was just presented to the clinic with signs of positional nystagmus, hyperextension of the head and neck, was non-ambulatory, and was vocalizing intermittently. The dog was reportedly treated at a different veterinary facility on October 5, 2018 with activated charcoal, dexamethasone (a steroid), and furosemide (a diuretic) then discharged. Symptomatic and supportive care for bromethalin exposure was discussed. Approximately 4 hours later the veterinarian reported that the dog was treated with mannitol but died about an hour later. No further information was received in this case.
