On 01 Feb 2018, a 4 year old, 55 pound, neutered, male, Poodle - Standard dog, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, was administered 1 tube of K9 Advantix II Extra Large Dog (Imidacloprid-Permethrin-Pyriproxyfen) via the topical route by the animal owner.

This product is not labeled for application on dogs that weigh less than 55.1 pounds and is an off-label over dose of the product. On 2-Feb 2018, the dog exhibited diarrhea. On 3 Feb 2018, the dog recovered without medical intervention. No further information is expected. The case is closed.

B - Possible Diarrhoea is rather unspecific sign in dogs and may have multiple potential causes. Potential oral uptake was not reported and no other digestive disorders which may reflect oral uptake, e.g. hypersalivation or vomiting, have been reported. However considering consistent time to onset, a product connection cannot be excluded and is deemed to be possible.
