On July 29, 2017 the cat developed anorexia. On July 31, 2017 the cat developed an inability to stand. On August 1, 2017 the owner took the cat to their regular veterinarian who gave antibiotics and did blood work. Later in the afternoon, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS assistant recommended the owner have the regular veterinarian call for information and to call back with questions.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. A follow up was not performed, because the signs are not related to the product.
