On August 17, 2017 the cat developed signs that continued until August 20, 2017 when the cat passed away. On August 21, 2017, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) whose veterinarian stated that if animals are heavily saturated, there can be risks for central nervous system (CNS) depression and ataxia and if ingested, there can be signs of hypersalivation and nausea. The APSS veterinarian further stated that death to the cat would not be expected and that other possible rule outs could be underlying cardiac disease, renal disease, and anemia from heavy flea infestation. The APSS technician recommended the owner call back with questions.
