On 09-May-2017, a 13 year old, 11.16 pound, neutered, female, Domestic Shorthair feline, in unknown condition, with a concomitant medical condition of arthritis, administered an unknown dose of unspecified carprofen by the owner since approximately 2017, was administered a dose Advantage II for large dog orally by a veterinary student. This was extra-label use (route) as this product is labeled to be applied topically.

Immediately post oral administration, the cat exhibited hypersalivation which resolved in approximately 10 minutes. On 10-May-2017, the cat exhibited a recurrence of hypersalivation, gagging, wheezing, lethargy and hiding. The cat was examined by a veterinarian but no known treatments were provided and the clinical signs continued.
