In May, Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment (SE) was informed of seven deer deaths in one location in the (location). SE was also informed of three dogs that became ill after scavenging on a dead deer in the same location, one of which died. Two carcasses were collected and sent to the Canadian Cooperative Wildlife Health Centre in (city) where necropsies were conducted. 'Green dyed grain' and strychnine was identified in the rumen contents. Note that chlorophacinone products contain a green dye.
