On 26-May-2017, a 1 year old, 15 pound, neutered, male, Domestic Longhair feline, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, had 1 Seresto Cat (Flumethrin-Imidacloprid) collar placed around the neck by the owner.
On 06-Jun-2017, the cat died. No necropsy was performed. Upon examination of the collar, teeth marks were present and an unknown amount of the collar was missing, oral exposure and ingestion were suspected, but not witnessed.
No more information is expected, this case is closed.

Reported death is not expected following appropriate topical product application as inconsistent with products pharmacological profile. In this case oral exposure was suspected as teeth marks present and unknown amount of collar missing. However, oral exposure is not expected to cause serious signs but mere gastrointestinal signs and swallowing of parts of collar by a cat is very unusual. Oral exposure was not witnessed and here no further signs reported. As no further exam performed (necropsy), case finally considered unassessable.
