On approximately 01Jan2016, the feline died. It is not known if the feline was evaluated by a veterinarian. No known necropsy was performed. No further information expected. This case is closed. The intent of the call was to discuss product use on another pet and not to report the death of the cat.
To be determined by Registrant
18. Severity classification (if there is more than 1 possible classification
Death
19. Provide supplemental information here
Death is not expected after product application, as inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 24-fold overdosage tolerated by cats without showing any side effect. The reason for the initial phone call was to discuss product use on another pet and not to report the death of the cat. Time to onset is quite long. Other unrelated causes are likely responsible for the animals death. Hence despite limited information regarding animal age, health status, concomitant history and necropsy results sufficient information exists to conclude that the product did not cause the event and product involvement was deemed unlikely.
