1-45859647 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her cat was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient (S)-methoprene. Approximately six months before the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter applied the product to her 16-pound, 16-year-old, male, domestic shorthair cat. Approximately three days after this application, the cat developed hair loss and red skin at the application site. It is not known how the reporter treated the symptoms. On the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter asked if it would be acceptable to re-apply the product to the cat as she noticed he was itching. The reporter was advised to not use the product on the cat again, and to consult with a veterinarian about which product would be best for her geriatric cat. No follow-up was attempted. No additional information was available.
