1-45940010 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her goat may have been exposed to a rodenticide containing the active ingredient diphacinone. On the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter indicated her 55-pound, 4-year-old, male, Nigerian Dwarf goat had died after an unknown period of time when he was unable to get up. The goat potentially had access to the product as it was stored in a box under the hay, but the reporter did not witness an ingestion. The reporter was advised that the product usually causes symptoms of abnormal bleeding, and the goats symptoms would be unexpected. The reporter was advised to have her veterinarian look for other causes of the goats death. On follow-up call three days later, the reporter indicated her veterinarian had done a necropsy on the goat and he had died of kidney stones. No additional information is available.
