(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-45581002 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her cat was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient (S)-methoprene. Forty-six days before the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter applied one-half of a dose of the product to her 5-year-old, 9-pound, female, domestic shorthair cat. Forty-three days before initial contact, the report applied another one-half dose to her cat. At an unknown date after this application, the reporter noticed the cat had minor muscle tremors in her leg. Eighteen days before initial contact, the report applied another one-half dose to her cat. The reporter noted at this application there was some hair loss at the previous application site. At an unknown date afterwards, the reporter noticed irritation and a scab on the cats skin and the muscle tremors had gotten worse. The cat has not received veterinary attention due to the reporters financial constraints, but the reporter did bathe the cat. The reporter was advised that the product has little toxicity to mammals, and reactions are not expected. The reporter was also advised that she had applied the product incorrectly which possibly could have led to the pets symptoms. The reporter was advised to seek veterinary care for the cat should her symptoms persist. No follow-up was attempted. No additional information is available.
