Between May 28, 2016 and May 29, 2016 the cat developed symptoms. The owner called the veterinary clinic and made an appointment, but the cat died on the way to the clinic. On June 1, 2016 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian recommended a necropsy, but the owner stated no necropsy was done and the body was cremated. The APSS veterinarian recommended calling back with questions.
