1-44934502 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated his cat was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient (s)-methoprene. The reporter applied the product to his 8-year-old, 9-pound, male, Domestic Shorthair five days before initial contact with the registrant. Soon after at an unknown amount of time after application, the cat started having convulsions, epistaxis, dehydration and fever. The reporter was unable to get the pet to a veterinarian for two days, but the pet was finally evaluated, treated and is recovering. The reporter was advised this would be an unexpected reaction to the product as it has a low level of toxicity and wide margin of safety. No additional information is available.
