1-44633118 - The reporter, a veterinarian, indicated a cat was exposed to an insecticidal shampoo containing the active ingredient pyrethrins. The reporter stated the cats owner bathed his 5-year-old, 8.12 pound, male, mixed breed cat two days before initial contact with the registrant. The night before the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter stated the cat was having muscle tremors and seizures. The reporter bathed the cat multiple times and placed the cat on medications, then sent it home. On the day of initial contact, the cat re-presented to the reporter as the seizures were still ongoing. The reporter was advised to treat the cats symptoms and monitor closely for the next 2-3 days. On follow-up call two days later, the reporter indicated that the cat had died. A necropsy was recommended, but the cat had already been buried. No additional information is available.
