1-43406818 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her dog was exposed to a weed preventer containing the active ingredient corn gluten meal. The reporter indicated that the product had been applied to her lawn 2 days prior to initial contact with the registrant and just prior to her call she saw her 16.5 pound, 7-year-old mixed breed dog eating the product from the lawn. The reporter believes her dog may have been eating the product off of the lawn since it had been applied 2 days earlier. At the time of the call the reporter stated that her dog had diarrhea. The reporter was advised that the product has a wide margin of safety but with ingestion transient gastrointestinal irritation is possible. On follow-up call, three days later, the reporter indicated that the dog had diarrhea for a few days and then symptoms resolved. No medical attention was needed. No additional information is available.
