On November 12, 2014 the owner noticed the cat was ataxic (acting drunk). On November 13, 2014 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS), during the call the cat became anorexic. The APSS veterinarian stated this has a high amount of alcohol in it and if the cat was drenched with the product then alcohol toxicity could be seen. The APSS veterinarian also stated there should be low risk for pyrethrin toxicity. The APSS assistant recommended taking the cat to the veterinarian (to see if these signs are being caused by an unrelated issue), having the veterinarian call for information, calling back with questions, and bathing the cat (with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) if can be done safely).
