On December 21, 2014 the owner noticed the dog had become symptomatic, so the owner bathed the dog (mainly water with small amount of human shampoo). On December 22, 2014 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated sounds like a paresthesia like reaction, consider bath with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) to remove more product. The APSS assistant recommended bathing the dog (using LDWD and rinsing well), applying a cold compress (cool compress may be soothing), calling the veterinarian (about using a different product with different ingredients), and calling back with questions.
