(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms

On August 4, 2015 the cat became symptomatic. On August 8, 2015 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated some gastrointestinal (GI) signs may be seen if the powder was groomed off and ingested. The APSS veterinarian also stated systemic toxicity is not expected. The APSS veterinarian finally stated prolonged anorexia can lead to hepatic lipidosis. The APSS assistant recommended bathing the cat (using liquid dish washing detergent), providing food (try chicken baby food or canned cat food), taking the cat to the veterinarian, having the veterinarian call for information, calling back with questions, and providing symptomatic care. The owner stated that he would not be able to bathe the cat because he was a stray and cannot do it and he was unable to afford veterinary care.
