Due to the sensitive nature of the communication, specific relevant event details were not obtained, nor will such be sought. On approximately 15-Jul-2015, a canine, of unknown signalment and condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, was administered 1 tube of K9 Advantix II Small Dog (Imidacloprid-Permethrin-Pyriproxyfen) topically by the owner.

On 11-Aug-2015, the dog died. It was unknown if a necropsy was performed. The reason for the initial call was to discuss product use on another pet and not to report the death of the patient. No further information is expected. This case is closed. NOTE: Previous applications were well tolerated.

Death not expected in dog after product application, as inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Low level of information (medical history, time to onset unknown, necropsy was not performed) as the caller contacted Bayer Animal Health to inquire about using this product on their new pet and not to report the death of the patient. Dog tolerated previous applications well. Time to onset is too long (27 days). Other causes more probable. Considering all aspects, a product connection deemed to be unlikely
