1-41561730- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat was exposed to a dog insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient phenothrin. One day prior to initial contact the reporter accidentally applied the dog spot-on product to her 8-year-old, 13 pound, male domestic shorthair cat. The reporter realized she had applied the wrong product and immediately washed her cat with dish soap. One day after the product had been applied the cat was taken to the veterinary clinic because it was not eating or drinking and was lethargic. At the time of the call the veterinarian had not provided any specific treatment but the cat was being observed at the clinic. No additional information is available.
