On approximately 01Jul2013, a 12 year old, female, Bichon Frise, in good condition, with no known medical conditions, had one Seresto Collar (Flumethrin- midacloprid) of unspecified size, placed around her neck by the owner. An unspecified amount of time later, approximately 08Jul2013, the dog passed away from a heart attack. It is not known if a necropsy was performed.

N- Unlikely. Cardiovascular disorders with subsequent fatal outcome are neither expected nor in line with pharmacotoxicological product profile. Product has no known effect on cario-vascular sytem. Time to onset also not indicative for product relation. More probably in this old dog the cardiac problems were pre-existing and the cause for the fatal outcome. Overall, a product relation is deemed to be unlikely
