(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
On approximately 28-Apr-2013, a 13 year old, 70 pound, neutered, male, Mixed Breed canine, in poor condition, with arthritis, rear limb weakness, and weight loss, had 1 Seresto Large Dog (Flumethrin-Imidacloprid)collar placed around the neck by the owner. On 24Jun2013 the owner was bathing the dog, it was very destressed when bathed. The dog collapsed and could not use rear legs. The dog was examined by the veterinarian and was hospitalized. The dog died over night on 28 Jun2013. No necropsy was performed. No further information is expected.
Death
N- Unlikely Time to onset not compatible with product use. Collar was well tolerated for two months. Collapse and suspected limb paresis with fatal outcome are neither expected nor in line with pharmaco-toxicological product profile and most likely due to dogs underlying hind limb weakness and poor condition. Additionally dog was bathed in an unknown shampoo shortly before onset of signs, which might have caused the distress and subsequent symptoms. No necropsy performed. In the end, a product relation is deemed to be unlikely
