1-41349854 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that his cat may have been exposed to a weed preventer containing the active ingredient corn gluten meal and to a non-registered company product called Turf Builder Starter Lawn Fertilizer 24-4-4. The reporter indicated that he found the two bags in his garage torn open. The exposure was not witnessed so the reporter did not know if it was his cat or another animal that ripped into the bags but on the day of initial contact his 3-year-old, male cat had several seizures. The cat was brought to the veterinarian where they noted nystagmus and low potassium levels. The reporter was advised that with ingestion transient gastrointestinal upset is possible but the described symptoms would not be expected. No additional information is available.
