1-40781817 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her dog was exposed to a molluscicide containing the active ingredient ferric HEDTA. The reporter indicated that one day prior to initial contact with the registrant her 50 pound, 1-year-old, female Golden retriever gained access to the container and ingested nearly the entire contents of the 500 gram box and during the night the dog started vomiting. At the time of the initial call the dog had vomited a total of 8 times and she was not eating. The reporter was advised that with large ingestions iron toxicity is possible and immediate veterinary care was recommended. On follow-up call, one day later, the reporter indicated that his dog was at the veterinary clinic and on IV fluids for a period of 48 hours. No further information is available.
