1-40835375 - The reporter, a veterinary clinic staff member, indicated that a dog was exposed to an insecticide containing the active ingredient permethrin. The reporter did not have the package at the time of the call and could not provide the PCP registration number or bar code number. The reporter could only provide the partial name of "Ortho Home Defense Max" and indicated that the active ingredient in the product was permethrin. Per the reporter, the pet owner applied the product on the lawn one day prior to initial contact with the registrant. That same evening, after the product was dry, the 8-month-old, 50.6 pound, mixed breed dog ingested grass from the application site. At the time of the call the dog had vomited 12 times in the past 2 hours. The reporter was advised that once dry symptoms are not expected from exposure. Additional diagnostics were recommended to determine an underlying cause and appropriate treatment. No additional information is available.
