1-40699268 - The reporter, a veterinarian, indicated that a cat was exposed to a spot-on insecticide containing the active ingredient methoprene. The pet owner applied the spot-on product to her 11-year-old, 17.9 pound male cat one day prior to initial contact with the registrant and the following morning the cat had red skin and hair loss at the application site. The reporter was advised that the product has little to no toxicity in mammals but some animals may be sensitive to the product. Bathing with a hand dish washing soap was recommended and supportive veterinary care as needed. No further information is available.
