On January 17, 2015 the dog developed pruritus and a behavior change. On January 25, 2015 the dog had renal failure and died. The owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) on February 4, 2015. The APSS veterinarian stated dermal irritation or contact hypersensitivity may occur as with any topical exposure and in addition, some animals exhibit abnormal behavior in response to the dermal sensation (paresthesia) that may be associated with this type of product. A necropsy was not available.
