(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-40042966 - The reporter, a farmer, indicated that her cow may have been exposed to a rodenticide containing the active ingredient diphacinone. The reporter stated that her 1200 pound, female cow went into the neighbors yard and ate 20 pounds of chicken feed three days prior to initial contact with the registrant. After the exposure the cow was not eating or drinking and then on the day of initial contact it passed away. While the cow was ill the reporter called his veterinarian and over the phone the veterinarian thought the cow might be suffering from bloat but the veterinarian did not exam or treat the animal. The reporter indicated that the neighbor was concerned that the cow may have also ingested about fifteen inch rodenticide pellets that had also been placed in his barn but this exposure was not witnessed. The reporter wanted to know if it would be okay to consume the cow meat if it had ingested the rodenticide pellets. No additional information is available.
