1-39024408 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat may have been exposed to a rodenticide containing the active ingredient diphacinone. Although no exposure to the product was witnessed the reporter stated that the cat may have accessed the product sometime within the last year. There were some holes in the bag and at the time of the initial call the reporter stated that her 1-year-old, 3 to 5 pound, male cat had vomited blood, had had a fecal accident, was breathing funny, was not moving, her gait was crooked and she looked like she was going to die. The reporter was advised to seek immediate medical attention to determine an underlying cause and appropriate treatment. If symptoms were from this product the antidote, vitamin K1 could be given. On follow-up call, two days later, the reporter stated that the cat died shortly after her initial call. No veterinary care was sought. No additional information is available.
