(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-39187206 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat was exposed to a spot-on insecticide containing the active ingredient methoprene. The reporter applied the product to her 6-year-old, 20 pound, female cat 5 days prior to initial contact with the registrant and the following day she noticed the cat had hair loss at the application site. The reporter bathed the cat and the hair stopped falling out but at the time of the initial call the skin was red and there was a blister at the site. The reporter has used the same product previously on her cat without any issues. The reporter was advised that the product has little to no toxicity in mammals but some animals may have a sensitivity to the product. Veterinary care was recommended for any severe or persistent symptoms. On follow-up call, nine days later, the reporter indicated that the cat was doing well. No veterinary care was sought. No additional information is available.
