(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms

On May 6, 2014 the cat developed tremors. On May 7, 2014 the cat had a seizure and shortly after her tremors got worse throughout the morning. Later that day, the attending veterinarian gave the cat subcutaneous fluid therapy and wiped off the coat/skin. The attending veterinarian then called the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated the product contains permethrin, cats are very sensitive and even a drop or two can cause marked tremors in some cats. The APSS veterinarian recommended bathing the cat with liquid dish washing detergent, giving methocarbamol, hospitalizing the cat, and giving intravenous (IV) fluids. The attending veterinarian stated the owner had limited funds and was unable to hospitalize the cat or provide IV fluids. The attending veterinarian also stated they do not have access to methocarbamol and unable to get it from a local pharmacy. The APSS veterinarian recommended sending the cat to an emergency veterinarian, but the owner is unlikely to do so.
