On September 10, 2014 the owner applied the product onto the cat. During application the cat was jumping around and the product trickled down the cat's coat and the owner saw droplets on the cat's whiskers.

On September 10, 2014 the owner noticed the cat was blinking immediately after the product application, so the owner then rinsed the cat with water. The owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated if this got in the pet's eye, we can see corneal ulceration and conjunctivitis. The APSS technician recommended flushing the cat's eyes, providing dilution, monitoring for ocular irritation (redness, discharge, rubbing), taking the cat to the veterinarian (if ocular irritation occurs), and calling back with questions.
