The cat had a rabies vaccination the day of his death. As exact date of death is not known, time to onset after last Advantage II application is not known. Nevertheless death is inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile and experience. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 24-fold overdosage tolerated by cats without showing any side effect. Underlying causes of death of this cat are unknown according to case description but concomitant treatment might be involved. No concrete substantiation known of interference of rabies vaccination with Advantage II. However, no reaction on previous exposure to Advantage II. Therefore is a relation to the product considered unlikely.
