1-37653083 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her four cats were exposed to an insecticidal shampoo containing the active ingredients pyrethrins, n-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide and piperonyl butoxide. The reporter stated that she shampooed her two 1 year old, female domestic shorthaired cats and her two 5 year old, female domestic shorthaired cats with the product 2 days prior to initial contact with the registrant. The following day all four cats were sluggish and then they all died suddenly. No veterinary care was sought. The reporter was advised that the product contains a very low concentration of active ingredients and the described symptoms are not consistent with use of the product. The reporter was further advised that a necropsy could help determine the cause for death but the reporter indicated that all four cats had already been buried. No further information is available.
