(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-37334905 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her two cats were exposed to a spot-on insecticide containing the active ingredients etofenprox and methoprene. The reporter applied the product to her 16 year old, female cat (Subform III #1) and to her 6-year-old female cat two days prior to initial contact with the registrant. Ten minutes after the product was applied both cats were crying, had dilated pupils and became lethargic. The following day both cats were bathed. The 6-year-old cat got better after the bath but the 16-year-old cat continued to not eat or drink and it got more lethargic. The 16-year-old cat was taken to the veterinarian on the morning of initial contact. The reporter was advised that per package labeling a veterinarian should be consulted before using the product on elderly animals. On follow-up call, two days later, the reporter indicated that her 16-year-old cat passed away at the veterinary clinic on the day of initial contact. A necropsy was recommended to help determine a cause for death. No further information is available.
