Pet owner applied advantage 9 to 2 cats the morning of Dec 26 2013. The pet owner also has a dog. The product was applied to the cat's neck and at the base of the tail. At 11 PM the pet owner noticed that Nugs (M DSH 9 mo, 5.1 kg) was twitching. The pet was exaimined at an emergency clinic and generalized muscle tremors and a possible slight ataxia were noted. Methocarbamol was given as well as subcutaneous fluids. The both cats were bathed with dish detergent the evening of Dec 26. The pet was examined again at the regular veterinary clinic Dec 27 2013. Methocarbamol was repeated. Fine tremors were noted but all else was noted. Shaneqwa (FS DSH 4.6 kg 3 yrs old) exhibited tremors beginning the morning of Dec 27 2013. Ataxia was not noted on exam but may have been present earlier. She was treated with a methocarbamol injection as well. Both cats were given oral methocarbamol for use at home as needed.
