On an unknown date in October 2013 the dog passed away from old age. No necropsy was performed. No more information is expected.The owner initially contacted Bayer Animal Health to seek advise on administration of the product and not to report the death of this pet.

The information regarding the death of the dog was casually provided during an inquiry. Report lacks important information (e.g. patient details, health history, time to onset death etc.). Reporting of occurrence more than one month after product application, thus occurrence of fatal outcome not within close time of product application. Death is not expected after product application, as inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 20-fold overdosage tolerated by dogs without showing any side effect. Old age as cause according to case description reported. Therefore is a product relation considered unlikely
