When an employee of the storage facility intended to release product to a retail location, it was discovered that one of the 10 L jugs of Malathion 500 was leaking. At the time it was unknown how the leak was developed (faulty packaging or damage while in storage or during the original transport to storage).

The chemical was released on to concrete which was cleaned up by the employee of the storage facility. The defective container was taken in by IPCO to determine the cause of the leak. It was determined that the jug was not sealed correctly, where only of the cap foil was adhered to the jug.
