On September 1, 2013 the owner noticed that the cat was drooling shortly after licking some of the product. The owner immediately rinsed the cat's coat and skin with water and called her regular veterinarian. A few minutes later the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that a taste reaction could be seen with this exposure. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner bathe the cat with a liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD), give the cat a taste treat of 1 teaspoon of milk or canned food, use a flea treatment on the cat in 1 week if the cat had been bathed, and call back with questions.
