On August 6, 2013 the owner noticed that the cat was drooling. A short time later that evening the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the cat was exhibiting a taste reaction and that vomiting could also be seen. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner give the cat a taste treat, monitor the cat at home, bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) if he continued to re-expose himself and hypersalivate, prevent further exposure by keeping the cat distracted or playing while the product dried, and call back with questions.
