On June 7, 2013 the owner noticed that the dog was symptomatic. A short time later that evening, the owner took the dog to the veterinarian, where the dog was bathed and given a physical examination. Later that evening, the dog was no longer drooling. On June 9, 2013 the dog had fully recovered. On June 14, 2013 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian also stated that paresthesia signs could be seen, consisting of behavior changes, hiding, etc. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner consult with her regular veterinarian about a more appropriate product to use for the pet next time.
