Exposure was by inhalation. The exposure was accidental, and occurred at animal owner home. Owner's house was tented, ran under the tent to get the cats and found them to be symptomatic.

The owner arrived at the clinic by 3 pm. Within 15-20 m of arrival, 1 cat had cardiac arrest and passed away (he presented seizuring and in respiratory arrest). At the clinic the other cat was obtunded, laterally recumbant and having respiratory distress. This second cat was euthanized.
