(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-35288493 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her two cats were exposed to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredient methoprene. The reporter applied the product to her two cats just minutes prior to initial contact with the registrant and after application her 2.5-year-old, male cat (Subform III #1) defecated and is now panting and her 5-month-old, female cat (Subform III #2) started foaming at the mouth. The reporter was advised that the product has little to no toxicity in mammals but with ingestion of the product drooling can occur because of the unpleasant taste. Panting is not expected from exposure but stress during application can exacerbate underlying respiratory conditions such as asthma. Veterinary care was recommended for any severe or persistent symptoms. The reporter could not be reached on follow-up. No further information is available.
