1-34498033 - The reporter, a home owner, indicated that a dog may have been exposed to an herbicide containing the active ingredients Acetic acid, (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)-, 2-ethylhexyl ester, Mecoprop-p, Carfentrazone-ethyl and Dicamba. The reporter stated that he applied this product on his lawn two days prior to initial contact with the registrant. When he applied the product he applied 2 applications of the diluted product and per the reporter the product had been diluted according to directions (3 ounces of product to one gallon of water). The reporter states that on the day of initial contact his next door neighbor told him that he had killed the neighbors 1 year old, 40 pound Pit Bull Terrier by applying the product to his lawn. No exposure was witnessed but the reporter does state that the neighbors dog does enter his lawn in the evenings to go to the bathroom. Per the reporter his neighbor did not describe any symptoms that the dog might have suffered from prior to its death. The reporter was advised that the product has a wide margin of safety and sudden death is not consistent with exposure to the diluted applied product. A necropsy was recommended to help determine the cause for death. No further information is available.
