On 25 Mar 2011 Advantage II Large Cat was applied to Corduroy an 11 pound, 10 year old, neutered male, Domestic Shorthair per labelled directions. At the same time Advantage was applied a Capstar was given per the direction of the vet. Capstar and Advantage were prescribed to Corduroy due to a massive flea infestation that was causing severe anemia. At an unspecified time after application Corduroy became anorexic, wouldn't drink, was lethargic and ended up passing away on 27 Mar 2011.

Signs including fatal outcome not expected with topically acting product, as not consistent with pharmaco-toxicological profile. Patient had severe anemia which needs to be considered. Middle aged cat which may have unknown health problems. Other systemic product applied concurrently. Relation with Advantage II rather unlikely. However, without necropsy impossible to verify cause of death and involvement of product.
