On approximately 25-Dec-2009 the dog passed away due to unknown causes. The dog was not seen or treated by a veterinarian. No necropsy was performed. No more information is expected. This case is closed.

Death not expected in dog after product application, as inconsistent with pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Low level of information (necropsy not available) as intent of phone call to Bayer was to ask if remaining product could be used on new pet, and not to report death of patient. Other etiologies more probable in this old, heavy weight dog. Allergy/anaphylactic reaction unlikely as too long time to onset. Previous exposure well tolerated. Long time to onset (3 weeks) allows exclusion of product involvement. Thus, product relation deemed to be unlikely.
