On May 14, 2013, the owner noticed that the dog might have accidentally ingested a block of Just One Bite II Bar that was left out. On May 18, the owner noticed that the dog was lethargic and trembling. On May 19, 2013, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that coagulopathy could be seen at the dose the dog may have ingested. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner take the dog to the veterinarian and call back with questions.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a medium likelihood of causing the clinical situation. On May 22, 2013, an APSS assistant called the owner to update the case. The owner stated that he did not take the dog to the veterinarian and that the dog died on May 19, 2013. A necropsy was not available.
