1-32928174 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her kitten may have been exposed to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredient permethrin. The reporter indicated that she applied the product on her bathroom floor a few days prior to initial contact and then after applying the product she wiped the floor with a towel. Although it was not witnessed the caller thinks that her 11 week old, 2 pound, female, domestic short hair kitten may have licked the bathroom floor one day prior to initial contact because on that evening her cat started vomiting, dry heaving, and acting needy. Caller was advised that there are numerous possible causes for the described symptoms and because the floor was wiped and the product was dry at the time of exposure it is unlikely that exposure caused the described symptoms. The reporter was further advised to seek veterinary care for any severe or persisting symptoms. On follow-up call, one day later, the reporter stated that her kittens symptoms resolved within 24 hours without medical intervention. No further information is available.
