Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that 2,4-dichlorophenol had no significant impact on respiration activity, soil nitrate content and soil nitrate formation rate of soil microflora when applied up to 5 mg/kg soil dry weight. It can be concluded that 2,4-dichlorophenol will not have any long term influence on soil micro-organisms.
