1-33044817 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her dog was exposed to a molluscicide product containing the active ingredient metaldehyde. The reporter indicated that the product was applied outside her home on the day of initial contact. Her 2 year old, 10 pound, Chihuahua did have access to the application site but no exposure to the product was observed. At the time of initial contact the reporter stated that her dog was currently seizing. The reporter was advised to seek immediate veterinary care. On follow up call, one day later, the pet owner indicated that the dog died in the car while on the way to the veterinary clinic. No further information is available.
